A unique place at the top of the monument

At the top of the former 1893 hospital lies the attic: high beams, warm lighting, plenty of daylight and a private lobby where you welcome your guests. The floor is reachable by lift, so it is easily accessible for young and old. Everything was renovated in the summer of 2026, from the floor to the furniture, with respect for the historic roof structure.

For families, parties and special moments

The attic suits groups of up to 30 guests seated at tables and over 50 guests for a standing party or drinks reception. Think of a birthday dinner at long tables, a family day with coffee and cake in the lobby, an anniversary with drinks or a baby shower among your own circle. You have the entire floor to yourselves.

Do it yourself or fully taken care of

Do it yourself: you hire the attic and style it the way you like. Bring your own cake, bites, drinks and decorations; we provide the tables, chairs and a warm welcome. Ideal if you want to keep it personal and affordable.

Fully taken care of: our kitchen led by head chef Peter and sous-chef Jos provides food and drinks at restaurant level. From coffee with pastries and an extensive lunch to drinks bites, a walking dinner or a complete dinner with local, organic produce. Our experienced service staff are there all day or evening - all you have to do is enjoy.

Everything in between is possible too: have us take care of just the drinks or the dinner, for example, and arrange the rest yourself. We tailor it to your wishes and budget.

What does hiring the attic cost?

Room hire: from € 195 for a half day or evening, including tables, chairs and basic lighting.

Catering: always by quotation, tailored to your group and wishes - from simple coffee with pastries to a fully catered party.

Combine with an overnight stay

Is your party travelling from afar? Your guests can stay in our monumental rooms and apartments, always including an extensive breakfast buffet. That way a party instantly becomes a relaxed family weekend in UNESCO World Heritage Veenhuizen.
