Events

Noordergloed Festival

On June 20 and 21, our village transforms into a vibrant stage during Noordergloed. This festival illuminates Veenhuizen with music, theater, and special encounters. Where the village once was a place of isolation, we now wander together past monumental buildings and green yards to enjoy culture and heritage in a unique landscape.

Experience Noordergloed at Bitter & Zoet As a former health cluster of the Colony, Bitter & Zoet forms an atmospheric anchor point during the festival. We invite you to delve deeper and strengthen your inner self:

Lectures 'Het Pauperparadijs': Dive into the history of the Colonies of Benevolence during the inspiring lectures by Suzanna Jansen, the author of the bestseller Het Pauperparadijs. A unique opportunity to hear the stories behind our heritage in the place where it all happened.

Special Festival Menu: Our kitchen pays a culinary tribute to the festival with an exclusive Noordergloed menu. Enjoy honest, local products in the casual atmosphere of our restaurant, the perfect place to let all the day's impressions sink in.

Come and wander, listen, and taste. Together, we will make Veenhuizen a place of connection.
