Honest, pure, and organic Our menu is a reflection of the Drenthe landscape and the Dutch seasons. Wherever possible, we always choose the organic option. For us, that is the only logical path: fair, animal-friendly, and with respect for the land we stand on. This way, with every bite, you taste the pure quality of products that haven't had to travel far, just as it was intended here over a century ago!
An EKO or BIO quality mark is good, but not the only thing that matters. If a regional producer cultivates their vegetables, meat, or cheese with care and attention to the environment, we are just as pleased. It's about the conviction behind the product.
Bitter & Zoet is also part of the Makker van de Akker project in Frederiksoord, where products are grown on the fields of the Horticultural School that go directly into our kitchen.
