Adventure with children at Bitter en Zoet in Veenhuizen

What we offer

Adventure with children

Veenhuizen is a playground for curious children. The forest, the Prison Museum, the outdoor swimming pool, and endless cycling and walking routes: there's always something to discover.

Around the hotel there is plenty of space to play in the grass, including a large balance seesaw. The forest is a huge jungle: go on a quest with search cards and a magnifying pot to find large and small inhabitants.

At the reception, an Outdoor Play Map and a Geocache passport are ready for you. In the Kop van Drenthe, a unique GEO Tour has been set out with about 70 geocaches in 7 storylines. Fun for young and old.

National Prison Museum: scavenger hunt "The Curse of Veenhuizen", Crook Bus, courtroom, climbing jail, and playground. Four times awarded as Drenthe's best Kidsproof museum.

Veenhuizen Outdoor Pool: cozy, small-scale, and child-friendly, on the edge of the village.

Observation tower 'De 7': 18 meters high, with a panoramic view over the Fochteloërveen.

Struin- and Duinpad Norg: nature experience path of 2.5 kilometers with climbing, balance exercises, and tree swinging.

Donder de Das at the Natuurplaats: discovery tour for children in the Noordscheveld.
